What a great day for a race. The weather was 55ish and there was a pretty strong head wind. But it felt great. I did exactly my time from the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot of 26.06 and got 2nd in my age group (40-49 this time) and 34th overall. I saw the lady that got first in my age pass me at about 1 1/2 miles in and figured she was in my age group. I stayed with her but stopped to get a drink at 2 mile mark and never could close the gap but I tried. Guess I shouldn't have stopped for water. We didn't win any door prizes but they gave away a bunch! It was still all great. I'm loving it. Now a long run tomorrow before the Dallas White rock half marathon next weekend.
Timothy got 6th overall, ran a 19:55 and once again 4th in his age group (16-18) Pretty much coasting for him. He is out of shape! The Tyler Lee 5A high school xc runners showed up and all of the top 10 were in his age group except 5th place was a guy in 40-49. I get to tease him again that I got a medal and he didn't and that he got beat by an old guy! lol. So they are teasing me that I got beat by a "heavy" lady (except that they didn't say it so nice). All in fun.
