Photos of the day 7/30-8/10

How do you only pick one photo a day for a trip such as London and Scotland!! Well here it is. There are many more to see if you are interested at Snapfish: http://www2.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=1990082013/a=98863390/

7/30The Tyler Civic Theater UK Troupe waiting at DFW airport for our flight to London, England. 18 students and 5 adults.
7/31 After a 9 hour flight and a bus tour of England and walking around Covenat Gardens shopping area, we are in front of the St. Giles hotel waiting to go inside.
8/1 This is me in front of Buckingham Palace where we saw the changing of the guards and then we went to tour the Tower of London.
8/2 Some of the guys (Timo in the white/red shirt) having fun after going to see the National museum. Saw Rembrant, Cluade, VanGoef and so much more - such old and fantastic painting!

8/3 Free time this afternoon and a few of us walked down to see Westminster Abbey and the Clock Tower (Big Ben). Fabulous! Then we went to tour the Globe Theater and have a workshop there, then dinner and back to The Globe for a theater performance.
8/4 We started out the day with workshops at LAMDA on Greek Tragedy and then on Shakespear followed by dinner. My baby turned 18 today! And we had a wonderful evening alone celebrating - legal drinking age is 18 there, so he was able to order and go into a club!

8/5 We toured Christ Church at Oxford and Oxford University and saw the room where part of Harry Potter was filmed (the big hall). From there we went on to Stratford on the Avon and saw Shakespear's birthplace (that I'm standing in front of). Also, saw Anne Hathaway's (Shakespear's wife) cottage.
8/6 We go the King's Cross station and visit platform 9 3/4!! Harry Potter fans know what that is! After a great train ride from England to Edinburgh with beautiful countryside to see, we toured the city of Edinburgh by bus and stopped at the Palace of Holyroodhouse (The Queen's official residence in Scotland) to tour it (Timo is in front of it here) and then toured the Edinburgh Castle.
8/7 George takes us on walking tour of the city and we see Greyfair's Bobby, St. Giles Cathedral, and much more. In the afternoon there is time for shopping. This is a fun photo of some of the kids after several of them bought masks.
8/8 A group of us hiked up Holyrood park which is very cool with lots of neat views. The pictures don't do it justice. Then we went to see a show of Taiwan students performing folk dance and finish the day by attending the Military Tattoo which had several Scottish military bands, Swiss bands, guest from China and Australia. It was amazing. My favorite was Amazing Grace sung and then played on the bagpipes. Awesome!
8/9 The kids had their performance at the Scottish Storyteller's Center with an audience of over 80. It went well and was a good note to finish the play on.
8/10 Today we drive to the Edinburgh airport with a connecting flight to our long flight back to Texas. The photo of the day is one more look at the Edinburgh castle. Beautiful!
