Altered Clipboard

I made these two altered clipboards for my sil's for Christmas presents and for a DT Challenge on SavvyNSassy. We had to alter something and use 4 different ribbons on the project. This is designed so that they can put their current family photo under the clip. Has their last name and the year the family was established (marriage year) and they can hang it up. I used Junkitz paper on the maroon one and I used Creative Imagination Sonnets paper for the purple one. Add other buttons, prima flowers (like these), etc for embellishements. I used a big variety of ribbon. SNS Store has a ton of really cool ribbons. I have about 27 yards of ribbon on order now that I will be getting any day. Can't wait to play with all the new ribbons. Here's one I really like that I've ordered, the mini chestnut Ric Rac and also this super wide black ric rak! I love it.
To make the clipboard you will need mod podge, you can get the clipboards for a dollar at Walmart and then paper and ribbon and die cut letters. Cut the top piece of paper around the top of the clipboard, cut the other two pieces. Spread mod podge over each section and apply the paper. Take sandpaper and go around the outside edges to smooth it out. Then add more mod podge over seams and put down the ribbon. Then add more mod podge and put the letters into place. Let that dry a little while then do another layer of mod podge, attaching the buttons and other embellishments you wish to use. Let dry and add one more layer of mod podge over the entire project. Careful to let fully dry so you don't get your fingerprints in it!
